With just four runs added to the score, Kingma left the field in the aftermath of a key run-out. Bhurtel’s outstanding performance in the field not only saved runs, but at a crucial point in the game, he also helped Nepal make a breakthrough.
After posting a target of 121 runs for the Netherlands, Nepal won the actual match. The Netherlands struggled to chase the total, and they were bowled out for 120 runs in 19.3 overs. The Netherlands’ top batsman, Max Oudoud, scored 31 runs, but their batting order failed to form meaningful alliances. The most impressive player for Nepal was Prasidh Krishna, who took three vital wickets to seriously damage the Netherlands batting order.
Nepal showed tenacity and perseverance in their quest for victory, reaching the mark with 15.2 overs remaining and six wickets in hand. Captain Rohit Poudel led from the front with a commanding innings of 46 runs, supported by Gulshan Jha, who contributed 38 runs to the cause.With this win, Nepal.
However, with two victories from three games, the Netherlands continue to lead the points table after losing this match.
