On Friday, renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan dispelled reports about his ailing health, calling them “fake news” and ending suspicions that he was admitted to the hospital.

Following several claims that the megastar had undergone an angioplasty treatment, purportedly for either a clot in his leg or a blocked artery, followers on social media earlier in the day were worried about Bachchan’s health.

But later that night, Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek were sighted at Thane’s Dadoji Kondadev Stadium, where they were watching Majhi Mumbai and Kolkata’s Tiigers play in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL). Only a few hours had passed since the news of his hospitalization.

A supporter member inquires about Bachchan’s health as he leaves the stadium in a video that has gone viral on social media. After initially indicating with his hands that everything is fine, Bachchan says, “Fake news.”

There were conflicting accounts on his hospital visit. Some stated he was there for an angioplasty treatment to treat a clogged artery or a blockage in his leg, while others stated he was there for a standard check-up at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Much of the day passed with neither Bachchan’s office nor the hospital providing an official confirmation in spite of these allegations.

Hashtags like #AmitabhBachchan and #KokilabenHospital trended on social media platforms, even though the veracity of these allegations remained unclear.

Many people, including Congressman Sanjay Nirupam, sent their best wishes and prayers for Bachchan to recuperate quickly, indicating how concerned people are about the actor.

In addition to his recent cameo in Tiger Shroff’s “Ganapath,” Amitabh Bachchan will play supporting roles in upcoming movies including “Kalki AD 2898” with Deepika Padukone and Prabhas and in the Tamil movie “Vettaiyan” with Rajinikanth.
