Rameshwaram cafe ,Last Friday, a shocking incident happened at the Rameshwaram cafe in Bengaluru, injuring ten people. From the suspect’s entrance into the cafe to the explosion, everything happened in a few minutes.
Everything started around 11:30 a.m. when an unknown person got off a bus and went into the Rameshwaram cafe. He was later recognized as the main suspect and was seen on camera at 11:38 am placing an order for a plate of Rava idli. The suspect left the cafe around 11:45 a.m. after placing a bag in the hand wash area that was purported to contain an improvised explosive device (IED) a few minutes later, at 11:44. It’s interesting that he decided to walk on the road rather than the sidewalk, maybe to avoid the CCTV cameras that were there.
At 12:56 p.m., the explosion shook the cafe, frightening both patrons and employees. The suspect disappeared from the scene shortly after, leaving a chaotic wake. He is still unidentified despite attempts to identify him; his face is hidden under a mask, goggles, and a cap. Bengaluru police have detained another person who was seen with the suspect so they can question him.
The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has assumed control of the investigation in reaction to the occurrence and has sent out numerous teams to find the perpetrator. The place is being thoroughly searched by NSG commandos and bomb squads while forensic teams search for evidence. The intensity of the assault has led law enforcement to implement strict anti-terror measures, such as the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosive Substances Act. Suspected links to previous incidents, such as the Mangaluru autorickshaw explosion in 2022, are also being investigated.
